Homicide PC 187
People v, Jan Doe (Fresno County Superior Court Juvenile Justice Department)
November 2015
This was a Juvenile matter that went to adjudication (trial). My client was accused of oral copulation (penal code 288a) and after several days of evidence the court found the charges not true. This matter was especially difficult due to the age of my client and the alleged victim. Our investigator at my direction, interviewed numerous witness whereby it was determined that my client was not present at the time the allegations were said to have occurred. My investigation was presented to the District Attorney, based on my investigation and other perceived issues, the District Attorney made my client a favorable offer, however, my client, after carefully weighing the options was determined to go to trial in order to have the allegations found not true. We presented four witnesses on behalf of my client, ultimately, at the end the allegations were found not true (not guilty).
Sex cases are difficult, however, I have had a lot of experience in these matters, it was my experience and determination that allowed the truth to come out. Of course, results like this are not easy, I had a great staff supporting me at every step, and without them results like this are not possible.
